The trowel is particularly suitable for the “buttering-floating method.”
This is a special technique for laying tiles, in which tile adhesive is applied both to the floor (large notch) and to the back of the tile (small notch). 
This method achieves full-surface bonding and prevents the formation of cavities under the tile, which increases stability and frost resistance.
