Millimetre work on the control cabinet

Precision is the be-all and end-all in control cabinet construction. With a view to the working environments in this industry, manufacturers are therefore developing specialised tools and equipment - for example for wiring the enclosures or for burr-free openings in the housing. Alfra, part of RAS (Rittal Automation Systems), will be presenting selected products from its parent company Rittal for processing enclosures at the hardware trade fair in Cologne alongside equipment for metal construction.

Daily companions for smooth processes
Users can expect quality as a matter of course. In addition, Rittal hand tools incorporate decades of expertise, which noticeably supports panel builders in all daily processes. For example, the crimping pliers for processing wire-end ferrules, flat receptacles or cable lugs and connectors. The pliers are self-adjusting and unlock as soon as the required crimping pressure is reached. This prevents crimping errors and guarantees consistent quality.
The 13-piece reversible screwdriver set is just as well thought out. Thanks to its user-friendly ergonomics, the tool fits perfectly in the hand and enables fatigue-free working. Another advantage is that the handle can be folded down and locked at a 90 degree angle so that higher torques can be applied.
Anyone who has tried out the Rittal multifunction tool at the trade fair stand will no longer want to do without it in their daily work. The practical tool completes a large number of work steps relating to the handling and assembly of AX enclosures and VX doors single-handedly. The sharp stainless steel blade effortlessly cuts packaging components such as tapes and films. The multifunctional tool also has various additional functions such as an enclosure spanner, a function for mounting and dismounting hinges, a lifting function for safely removing and mounting enclosure doors and an adhesive magnet for attaching documents to the enclosure.
All hand tools are subject to high quality standards in terms of functionality, durability and handling.

Burr-free cut-outs in enclosures and doors
Cut-outs for connectors, switches or cable connections require special care in enclosure construction. A convenient option for manual operation is hydraulic punching, as can be seen at the Alfra stand in Cologne. These are a sensible solution for control panel builders who need to punch efficient holes in a short time with little effort. Another plus point: sheet metal punching machines work with millimetre precision, allowing control cabinet manufacturers to implement their specifications precisely.
Individual work situations require different solutions for punching the holes. Four variants of manual hydraulic punching machines are therefore available. These include the basic Compact® model (straight version), the CompactCombi® version with a cylinder head that can be rotated through 90 degrees for use in difficult-to-access working environments, and the Compact Flex® version with hydraulic hose, which is also available in battery operation, is even more flexible - e.g. for applications in particularly narrow or already equipped control cabinets. All four punches are designed for use with round and moulded holes. Depending on the diameter of the round hole, the punching can be carried out in 2 mm or up to 3 mm thick sheet steel. In stainless steel, this is possible up to a sheet thickness of 1.5 mm or 2.0 mm. Depending on the dimensions, it is also possible to cut out shaped perforations in sheet steel up to 3 mm thick or in stainless steel up to 2.0 mm thick with the hydraulic devices.
The advantages are most impressively demonstrated in practical use during a live demonstration. An expert stand team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
