"We and our members are monitoring the developments very closely," Horst continues. "The decision of both the companies and FWI to participate in the trade fair was therefore taken after careful consideration and assessment of the current situation."
International and German health authorities recommend preventive measures. However, they currently do not see any reason to restrict major events in Germany.
At recent trade fairs, there were no incidents of coronavirus infection. This shows that the safety precautions were successful.
The preventive actions taken by Koelnmesse comply with the recommendations of the health authorities.
In addition, precautionary measures are also in place at the individual exhibition stands, such as additional disinfectant dispensers and recommendations for personal safety like not shaking hands.
"EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair Cologne is the leading global trade fair for the tool industry and its customers. According to current information, there is no risk associated with visiting a trade fair in Germany. With this in mind, we are unequivocally committed to our presence at the fair. As a leading tool manufacturer, we represent the German tool industry on behalf of all the colleagues who cannot be there," points out Michael Kleinbongartz, CEO KUKKO and Chairman of FWI.
The FWI will also be exhibiting at EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair Cologne in the lobby of Europa Hall and is looking forward to interesting discussions and a lively exchange of ideas.
Around 110 tool and wall anchor manufacturers that produce in Germany are part of the FWI network. In 2018, the tool industry generated sales of EUR 4.9 billion and employed around 31,500 people. The primary objectives of the association are preserving the wide diversity of German manufacturers, shaping fair competition and strengthening Germany as a production location.
There are also 50 extraordinary members of the FWI. These include industrial companies who are closely associated to the industry and its distribution channels as well as service providers and foreign companies.
