In 2026, the “snap-off blade utility knife” will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its invention. OLFA Corporation is a Japanese company founded by Yoshio Okada, who was the first in the world to develop this snap-off blade utility knife. Today, OLFA manufactures and sells more than 100 types of hand tools with blades, including not only the snap-off blade utility knife but also scrapers for shaving and peeling tasks, and box cutters designed for safely opening packages.
