Statement of BHB
Dr. Peter Wüst , CEO
BHB (Handelsverband Heimwerken, Bauen und Garten e.V.)

The decision has been made: The International Hardware Fair will be postponed once again and will now have a new venue at the end of September 2022. As one of the conceptual sponsors of this most important industry trade platform, the BHB expressly welcomes this clear and responsible decision by the organiser KoelnMesse at this time.
"Of course, we would have been pleased to be able to meet with industry representatives from all over the world again at our traditional venue. We as an industry association, traditionally the communication and contact point at the fair for the DIY trade companies as well as important supporting members from industry and services, also need this platform for exchange and, with the BHB Forum and the presentation of the BHB Industry Award, are ourselves a fundamental part of the IEW.
However, we very much agree with the organisers' decision to postpone the fair to a much later, hopefully then safer period of the year in view of the highly volatile pandemic situation. Even though the organisers' extensive security concepts would have made it seem feasible to hold the event, exhibitors and visitors feel much more comfortable with this solution. Let us therefore hope to be able to successfully implement our joint plans for the new trade fair date of 25 to 28 September 2022."

Thomas Dammann, CEO
ZHH (Zentralverband Hartwaren e.V.)

"The hardware trade expressly welcomes the decision to move the International Hardware Fair to September in order to be able to experience an attractive and comprehensive industry show. After the Corona-related cancellation in 2020, the trade finally needs a comprehensive international market overview again, at which the renowned European brands are also present. Because there is a great need for a personal exchange with the market participants, which the specialist trade does not want to do without despite increasing digital networking."
One-time postponement to the fall will ensure maximum participation from exhibitors and visitors including vital Asian sales and manufacturing markets
