The EXPRESSO hand truck is considered a true all-rounder in handling technology.
As a manual transport and conveyor device, the EXPRESSO hand truck has proven itself worldwide wherever components and containers need to be moved safely and ergonomically. In many businesses, it has become an integral part of intralogistics processes. Users particularly appreciate the high quality of workmanship and the robust construction of this single-axle ‘short-distance roller’, which is designed for durability. At this year's hardware fair in Cologne, the German manufacturer will demonstrate how versatile the hand truck is and how it can be adapted to different tasks time and time again.
Anyone looking for a universally applicable transport device for manually moving storage containers, components, semi-finished products and much more should visit the EXPRESSO stand at this year's Eisenwarenmesse (3–6 March 2026). In Hall 3.2, Stand D048, the German manufacturer will once again be presenting one of its most successful products: the hand truck. One might wonder why such a simple means of transport continues to be one of the company's global bestsellers. What is certain, however, is that the EXPRESSO sack truck has proven its worth in internal and external material flow processes in almost all industries. ‘In addition to its ease of use and versatility, it is particularly the modular design and high quality that make our sack truck a staple of operational equipment,’ says Lars Schmidt, Sales Manager in the EXPRESSO Hand Transport Equipment division.
At the hardware trade fair in Cologne, he and his team will demonstrate the enormous scope for task-specific customisation of the hand truck offered by the modular system developed by EXPRESSO and the possibilities for adaptation provided by the manufacturer's range of accessories. The company is also setting new standards by offering a ten-year warranty, which is based on the strict quality assurance of the assembly processes at the company's main plant in Kassel and offers customers considerable added value.
Premium quality Made in Germany
The EXPRESSO hand truck reveals in many details that it is a genuine premium product Made in Germany. The carcass frame of the pneumatic tyres, for example, allows for high load capacity with minimal rolling resistance. All wheels run on water- and dust-proof deep groove ball bearings and are odourless. As a “puncture-proof” solution, there is also an AIRLEX wheel made of polyurethane, which contains thousands of microcellular air bubbles and achieves a service life that is five times longer. All wheel types are track-stable and offer excellent shock absorption on uneven floors, which is particularly important for sensitive loads. All wheels with a diameter of 260 mm come with the continuously curved axle typical of EXPRESSO hand trucks as standard. This prevents the user's foot from slipping and makes tipping easier, even with heavy loads. The ergonomic safety handles also support the easy handling of the hand truck.
The robust frame of the EXPRESSO hand trucks is made of elliptical tubing from a high-strength aluminium alloy. It is 50 per cent lighter than steel and gives the hand truck a load capacity of up to 300 kg. The main load-bearing areas are also glass fibre reinforced and have permanently protected angle connectors and double stainless steel clamps. The cross connectors, which are positively connected to the spar, are also glass fibre reinforced. Skids made of Exlan plastic protect the aluminium skids of the hand truck when transporting stairs. It is time to replace the skids when the red core of their wear indicator becomes visible – thanks to a clamp system, replacement is child's play. The hand truck's spade-shaped blade, precision-milled from a special alloy, is densely profiled and prevents the load from slipping sideways.
High availability of spare parts
As a manufacturer, EXPRESSO offers an unlimited supply of spare and wear parts for its hans trucks and stackers. Users can order all parts by telephone from a personal advisor or in the company's online shop. "This makes it very easy to keep our hand trucks and stackers in top condition throughout their ten-year warranty period. In many places, this makes them an extremely sustainable long-term solution," says Lars Schmidt. In addition, customers benefit greatly from the consulting expertise of EXPRESSO employees. They have comprehensive know-how in the field of material flow and process optimisation and can provide valuable tips on the best possible design for a hand truck based on on-site analyses. And if the complexity of the task or the operational environment requires it, EXPRESSO's engineering department also implements customer- or industry-specific special solutions. (jm)
